Frequently asked questions

How do I add an item?

There are two ways to add items — one at a time, or several at once.

Add a single item

  1. From the Area tab, tap the + button in the top-right.
  2. On the Single tab, type the item name — that's the only required field.
  3. Optionally set its location (Fridge, Freezer, or Pantry), a category (auto-suggested from the name), an amount level, an expiration date, and a quantity or notes.
  4. Tap Save.

Add several items at once

  1. Tap the + button, then switch to the Bulk tab.
  2. Type item names under each location section — tap Add another item to keep going.
  3. Tap Next, then set the category, expiration date, and quantity for each item.
  4. Tap Save all to add them all in one go.
What do the colors mean?

Each item is color-coded by how soon it expires:

  • 🔴 Red — expired or expiring today
  • 🟠 Orange — expires tomorrow
  • 🟢 Green — you've still got a few days
What happens when I finish or toss an item?

Swipe or long-press any item to log what happened to it:

  • Swipe right → All gone — you ate or used it up
  • Swipe left → Toss — it went to waste (or Delete to remove it entirely)

Logged items leave your active list but stay in your history (Overview tab), so you can look back at what you used and what went to waste over time.

What is the Plan tab for?

The Plan tab gives you a week or month view of what's coming up, so you can plan meals around what you already have before it expires — and log what you cooked, ate, or tossed as you go.

Is my data backed up or shared?

Your items are stored only on your device. Fridge Life doesn't sell, share, or upload your data, and it isn't synced to the cloud. See the privacy policy for full details.

Which devices are supported?

Fridge Life runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later.
